    Perturbative Symmetry Approach

Perturbative Symmetry Approach is formulated in symbolic representation. Easily verifiable integrability conditions of a given equation are constructed in the frame of the approach. Generalisation for the case of non-local and non-evolution equations is disscused. Application of the theory to the Benjamin-Ono and Camassa-Holm type equations is considered.Comment: 16 page

Endpoint behavior of the pion distribution amplitude in QCD sum rules with nonlocal condensates

Starting from the QCD sum rules with nonlocal condensates for the pion distribution amplitude, we derive another sum rule for its derivative and its "integral" derivatives---defined in this work. We use this new sum rule to analyze the fine details of the pion distribution amplitude in the endpoint region x0x\sim 0. The results for endpoint-suppressed and flat-top (or flat-like) pion distribution amplitudes are compared with those we obtained with differential sum rules by employing two different models for the distribution of vacuum-quark virtualities. We determine the range of values of the derivatives of the pion distribution amplitude and show that endpoint-suppressed distribution amplitudes lie within this range, while those with endpoint enhancement---flat-type or CZ-like---yield values outside this range.Comment: 20 pages, 10 figures, 1 table, conclusions update

Phenomenology of B -> pi pi, pi K Decays at O(alpha^2 beta_0) in QCD Factorization

We study O(alpha^2 beta_0) perturbative corrections to matrix elements entering two-body exclusive decays of the form B -> pi pi, pi K in the QCD factorization formalism, including chirally enhanced power corrections, and discuss the effect of these corrections on direct CP asymmetries, which receive their first contribution at O(alpha). We find that the O(alpha^2 beta_0) corrections are often as large as the O(alpha) corrections. We find large uncertainties due to renormalization scale dependence as well as poor knowledge of the non-perturbative parameters. We assess the effect of the perturbative corrections on the direct CP violation parameters of B -> pi^+ pi^-.Comment: 27 pages, 5 figures. On complete integrability of the Mikhailov-Novikov-Wang system

We obtain compatible Hamiltonian and symplectic structure for a new two-component fifth-order integrable system recently found by Mikhailov, Novikov and Wang (arXiv:0712.1972), and show that this system possesses a hereditary recursion operator and infinitely many commuting symmetries and conservation laws, as well as infinitely many compatible Hamiltonian and symplectic structures, and is therefore completely integrable. The system in question admits a reduction to the Kaup--Kupershmidt equation.Comment: 5 pages, no figure

In this brief note we present a zero-curvature representation for one of the new integrable system found by Mikhailov, Novikov and Wang in nlin.SI/0601046.Comment: 2 pages, LaTeX 2e, no figure

Exact diagonalization of the Bohr Hamiltonian for rotational nuclei: Dynamical gamma softness and triaxiality

Detailed quantitative predictions are obtained for phonon and multiphonon excitations in well-deformed rotor nuclei within the geometric framework, by exact numerical diagonalization of the Bohr Hamiltonian in an SO(5) basis. Dynamical gamma deformation is found to significantly influence the predictions through its coupling to the rotational motion. Basic signatures for the onset of rigid triaxial deformation are also obtained.Comment: 17 pages, 10 figures; to be published Phys. Rev.

Spin Polarization Phenomena and Pseudospin Quantum Hall Ferromagnetism in the HgTe Quantum Well

The parallel field of a full spin polarization of the electron gas in a \Gamma8 conduction band of the HgTe quantum well was obtained from the magnetoresistance by three different ways in a zero and quasi-classical range of perpendicular field component Bper. In the quantum Hall range of Bper the spin polarization manifests in anticrossings of magnetic levels, which were found to strongly nonmonotonously depend on Bper.Comment: to be published in AIP Conf. Vector, Axial, Tensor and Pseudoscalar Vacuum Susceptibilities

    Get PDF
Using a recently developed three-point formalism within the method of QCD Sum Rules we determine the vacuum susceptibilities needed in the two-point formalism for the coupling of axial, vector, tensor and pseudoscalar currents to hadrons. All susceptibilities are determined by the space-time scale of condensates, which is estimated from data for deep inelastic scattering on nucleons

    Algebraic entropy for semi-discrete equations

We extend the definition of algebraic entropy to semi-discrete (difference-differential) equations. Calculating the entropy for a number of integrable and non integrable systems, we show that its vanishing is a characteristic feature of integrability for this type of equations
